Discussing ecumenism

A meeting was held in Rome today to discuss current developments in ecumenism

This morning at 11:30 am local time, in the John Paul II Hall in the Vatican Press Office, His Eminence Walter Cardinal Kasper, Prefect of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity held a conversation regarding the current realities of ecumenism.

This meeting took place in the context of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity which is observed this year from January 21 to 28, 2007.

Among those who contributed to the discussion were His Excellency, Brian Farrell, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and Monsignor Eleuterio Fortino, Sub-secretary of the same Pontifical Council.

During the conversation, the volume entitled A Handbook of Spiritual Ecumenism, prepared under the direction of Cardinal Kasper, was presented.

In June there will be a "Jesus March" in Elliot Lake. All Christians are invited to attend and participate. The only requirement is a true love of Jesus and a profound believe in His love for you. I will post more. We keep this event simple, but profound. All denominations are invited to share their love. There is one Catholic on the Board of those who are organizing the event and that would be me. All Catholic schools are invited, all parishes, etc. We will gather as children of God to praise and glorify His holy name and His only son Jesus. Please consider this Jesus March in June of this year. Ecumenism is desperately needed in this crazy world right now. Let us truly become the Body of Christ. YICJ - Kathy Rosilius
