Bishop Plouffe publishes new appointments for priests in the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie
His Excellency, the Most Reverend Jean-Louis Plouffe announces the following appointments:
Effective June 1, 2007
Reverend Gerald Lalonde, CSB, until now pastor of Our Lady of Peace parish (Capreol) is retired.
Effective June 30, 2007
Reverend Brendan Doherty, C.PP.S., until now pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows parish (Sturgeon Falls) and Holy Spirit parish (Garden Village) is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 519) of Our Lady of Peace parish (Capreol).
Reverend Trevor Scarfone, until now pastor of Saint Monica's parish (Wawa) and Saint Francis Regis (Pic Mobert First Nation) is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 519) of Our Lady of Sorrows parish (Sturgeon Falls) and Holy Spirit parish (Garden Village).
Reverend Edward Wawrzyk, until now pastor of Corpus Christi parish (North Bay) is retired.
Reverend Kenneth Gauthier, until now pastor of Holy Name of Jesus parish (North Bay) and Saint Alphonsus Liguori parish (Callander) is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 519) of Corpus Christi parish (North Bay) while remaining pastor of Saint Alphonsus Liguori parish (Callander).
Reverend Terrence Fournier, until now pastor of Saint Jude parish (Espanola) is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 519) of Saint Stanislaus parish (Copper Cliff).
Reverend Lawrence Maduewesi, a priest from the diocese of Awka (Nigeria) who is scheduled to arrive in Canada in the coming weeks, is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 540, para. 1, 2) of Saint Monica's parish (Wawa).
Reverend Nnaemeka Kevin Ezeokeke, until now pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes (Manitouwadge) is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 540, para. 1, 2) of Saint Francis Regis parish (Pic Mobert First Nation) while remaining pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes (Manitouwadge).
Reverend Manuel Soosaipillai, until now pastor of Saint Stanislaus parish (Copper Cliff) is appointed pastor (ad normam, C. 540, para. 1, 2) of Holy Name of Jesus parish (North Bay) and Saint Rita's parish (North Bay).
With the departure of His Excellency, the Most Reverend Robert Harris, Msgr. David Tramontini, PH, Chair of the anglophone Presbyteral Council and Msgr. Richard Faucon, PH, Chair of the francophone Presbyteral Council have graciously accepted to assume the responsibility of Vicars General while remaining pastors of their respective parishes. This appointment takes effect immediately.
